Welcome to FocusByte. By accessing or using our application, website (https://focusbyte.in), or related services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using FocusByte, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you are using the app on behalf of an educational institution or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind them to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

FocusByte is a comprehensive productivity and focus-management web application designed to help users track study or work sessions, manage time, and improve focus habits. Our services include, but are not limited to, study trackers, a Pomodoro timer, group leaderboards, an in-app shop, mentor chat capabilities, and a parent portal for oversight. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Lawful Use: You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes.
• Prohibited Actions: You must not misuse, reverse-engineer, exploit the app, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
• Parent Portal: Users utilizing the parent portal are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right or consent to monitor the associated student account.

4. Community and Communications

FocusByte includes features that allow interaction, such as the mentor chat and group leaderboards.

• You agree to interact respectfully with mentors and peers.
• Harassment, hate speech, spamming, or sharing inappropriate content within the mentor chat or public profiles is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
• Cheating, exploiting bugs to gain unfair advantages on group leaderboards, or artificially inflating virtual points for the shop is forbidden.

5. Virtual Items and Shop

FocusByte may feature an in-app shop where users can redeem earned points or tokens for virtual items. These virtual points, tokens, or items have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and remain the sole property of FocusByte.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, visual designs, software code, and underlying technology related to FocusByte are the exclusive property of FocusByte and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. They may not be copied, reproduced, or reused without our express written permission.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and your access to the service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or engage in behavior we deem harmful to the FocusByte community.

8. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

FocusByte is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to provide a reliable tool for productivity, we do not guarantee specific academic or professional results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the app, loss of data, or interruptions in service.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
